Primary Objective:
The Learning Centre Coordinator is responsible for the day to day running of the Learning Centre. The Coordinator works closely with the local Advisory Group to determine priorities for providing education and training opportunities for adult community members to improve their employment opportunities and life skills, especially core language, literacy and numeracy skills. The Learning Centre aims to provide for a wide range of formal and informal adult education and training. The Coordinator plays a key role in recruiting, training and supporting casual, local staff to gain the skills required to eventually manage and coordinate the Learning Centre. The Coordinator and local staff work together to ensure that the community has daily access to use the computer, internet and library facilities at times negotiated with the local Advisory Group.
